The Copper Kitchen Company Moscow Mule Mug Set comes is a
giftable box and a set of two 100% copper mugs. These are somewhat different
then other Moscow mule mugs that I’ve tried, as they have a convex body versus
others that look more like a traditional coffee cup. I’ve done a fairly through
review on YouTube, but I wanted to share the traditional Moscow Mule recipes,
as well as a few variations on the classic.

A little bit of history about the Original Moscow Mule
seems appropriate and it is a tale of necessity being the mother of invention.
Those beautiful copper mugs that we all love today were brought over from
Russia by an immigrant named Sophie Berezinski. Sophie needed to unload the
mugs -- 2,000. And a bartender named Wes Price, who was working at the famed
Cock ‘N’ Bull in Hollywood, needed to unload some ingredients that patrons
apparently weren’t too interested in -- Smirnoff Vodka and Ginger Beer. Take
Sophie, Wes, add a little necessity and you have The Original Moscow Mule!
The Original Moscow Mule
- Smirnoff Vodka
- Ginger Beer
- Lime
In a glass with ice, combine 2 ounces vodka, juice of half a
lime and top it off with Ginger Beer. Garnish with a lime slice and serve in a
copper mug.
Cucumber Mint Moscow Mule
- Belvedere Vodka
- Lime
- Ginger Beer
- Cucumber
- Fresh Mint Leaves
Combine 4 ounces vodka, juice of half a lime, 8 ounces
ginger beer. Muddle cucumber and mint and add to vodka mix. Stir and pour in a
copper mug with ice.
Peach Basil Moscow Mule
- Peach Vodka
- Lime
- Ginger Beer
- Fresh Basil Leaves
Add 2 ounces peach vodka and 6 ounces ginger beer in a
copper mug with ice. Squeeze one quarter of a lime into mug, and then add a
couple pieces of fresh basil.
