Baby Sellers To Premiere on Lifetime

Lifetime announced July 16 the premiere of a compelling film “Baby Sellers”. Starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kirstie Alley, “Baby Sellers” is inspired by true-life events and focuses upon one aspect of human trafficking … the sale of babies and children.

Human Trafficking is the second largest global criminal enterprise. And although many are aware of the commercial sexual exploitation of women, girls and boys, there is another highly lucrative aspect of human trafficking -- the global trade of selling infants under the thinly veiled guise of adoption. “Baby Sellers” gives viewers insight into the brutal and horrific reality of infant trafficking and exposes this dark, evil criminal enterprise.

Experts estimate that approximately 1.2 million children, worldwide, are victims of human trafficking. Occurrences of every type of human trafficking are reported in all parts of the globe, but incidences of baby trafficking are particularly high in India, Africa and China. Alley stars as “Carla Huxley,” a well-respected and highly influential owner of a large US adoption agency, but behind closed doors, she is an integral part of a global baby trafficking syndicate.

In order to stop criminal activity, one must become educated about that criminal activity. “Baby Sellers” is a crash course about the heinous crime of selling children. “Baby Sellers” premieres at 8 p.m. August 17 on Lifetime.
