Foursquare is out and Geoloqi is in

I personally never understood the appeal of location based social networking. Quite frankly, it falls under the category of uber stupid on so many levels. But born from that thought process of location based social networking comes Geoloqi.

Geoloqi is a private, real-time mobile and web platform designed specifically to allow the user a secure avenue to share location data. The privacy feature is what makes Geoloqi unique and highly useable for the safety conscious, and the Geonotes are what make this app incredibly useful.

Geoloqi says, “Send a message to your future self,” which is a pretty cool way to sum up this feature. For instance, you can send yourself a Geonote that will remind you to pick up your dry-cleaning when you’re close to the drycleaners. Along the lines of safety, you only share what you want to share, with whom you want when you want. So you can let your friends or family know exactly where you are … or not.
